Dr Yanni's practice closure at the end of February 2026.

Dr Yanni is winding up her private practice at Prosper Paediatrics. She will cease consulting 25 February 2025.

Prosper Paediatrics has been proud to support Dr Yanni's practice for well over 6 years. She is sad to finish but has always hoped to establish a small solo practice at some stage.  She plans to take some leave and then begin this new chapter.  She hopes to open her new practice around April next year and intends to advertise it online as soon as she is ready.

Unfortunately, any appointments booked with Dr Yanni at Prosper Paediatrics after February 25, 2026, must be cancelled.

Consulting days:

Except when taking leave, or on public holidays, I generally consult in my private practice at the Toorak Gardens rooms on Mondays, Wednesdays and some Tuesdays.

My Admin and Reception Team:

I have engaged Service Provider, Prosper Paediatrics to provide and manage the administrative services and consulting facilities I need to help conduct my private practice.

Prosper Paediatrics provides reception services to my practice. Please contact them about bookings and any other matters. Through its staff, systems, and procedures, Prosper Paediatrics will reliably and promptly ensure I am kept informed and see any requests, questions, letters, and reports. They take care of the administrative side of things so I am able to concentrate on the clinical aspects of my private practice.

The company and its staff are experts in private paediatric practice administration, including all relevant aspects of administration for paediatric specialist practice, including Medicare, NDIS, private health, billing and rebates.I conduct my private practice in association with Prosper Paediatrics' services. I have engaged them so that I can have consistent, well-designed policies, procedures, systems, and a practice environment that helps me deliver excellent patient care.

My practice focus

I am experienced in and enjoy the variety and challenges of general paediatrics and adolescent medicine. My particular interests include:

  • Neonatal medicine (especially fussy infants and feeding issues)

  • Developmental and behavioural paediatrics

I have conducted my private practice in association with Prosper Paediatrics and consult in their rooms at Toorak Gardens for well over 6 years but will close this practice at the end of February 2026.

I am also accredited as a visiting consultant and provide neonatal care at Burnside Hospital but will cease my neonates practice by the end of February 2026.

My training

I completed my general paediatric training at the Women's and Children's Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Port Augusta Hospital. My training included valuable additional experience in the Child Development Unit of the WCH prior to admission to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2019.  I am accredited for formal diagnostic assessment of Autism although I no longer offer these. I am happy to refer patients for formal assessment with an allied health diagnostic team.

I graduated from Griffith University in 2010. I completed a Masters by Research through the Women's and Children's Vaccine and Clinical Research Trial Unit & the University of Adelaide. My Masters evaluated the incidence and risk factors of Neonatal Group B Streptococcal Infection. Prior to becoming a doctor, I worked as a pharmacist in Australia and the United Kingdom.

A bit more about me

My private practice is balanced with a position with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital CAVUC Service and a busy family life.  I try to keep my sense of humour and light-heartedness in play as I work to help young people with the issues and challenges that bring them to me.

My Neonatal care fee gap schedule:

The gap is the portion of my fees not covered by standard Medicare rebates or, if for admitted care, your health fund’s remittance.

Most families are eligible for additional Medicare Safety Net rebates, further reducing these standard gaps. Please contact my Accounts or Practice Manager for further information.

Detailed information about neonatal care in the hospital is here, new baby follow-up care is here, and neonatal billing is here.

The maximum out-of-pocket cost for your account will be $750 ($850 max for twins).

  • This gap may apply where, during your baby’s stay in the hospital, an attendance to or consultation regarding your baby is required for

    • an out-of-hours planned C-section (before 8 am or after 5 pm).

    • an unplanned C-section or other urgent need for assessment and care.

  • Families should budget for this in case attendance of this kind is needed.

Otherwise, if no unplanned or out-of-hours attendance is needed during your baby’s stay, your maximum gap will be

    • $550 where initial attendance to baby is at a planned elective procedure (e.g. elective C-section) within the hours of 8.00 am to 5.00 pm or

    • $380, where all attendances to your baby after delivery are routine or within normal rounds.

    • If you have concerns about settling the whole invoice in one payment, an itemised payment plan may be agreed, but first, enrolling your baby promptly in Medicare will be important.

I have established a fee schedule to assist families in planning for their care costs and bill accordingly, at my discretion.
